Professional Experience
Experience Focused on People, Planning, and Community
After graduating from Osbourn Park High School, Colin attended Northern Virginia Community College before earning a degree in Public Policy and Administration from James Madison University.
During college, Colin became involved in teaching citizenship and literacy classes for adult learners — an experience that introduced him to people from many different backgrounds and reinforced his belief that strong communities are built when people feel informed, supported, and connected.
Following graduation, he joined BEACON for Adult Literacy as Volunteer Coordinator, supporting literacy programs and community outreach efforts throughout the region. The role deepened his commitment to public service and community engagement.
Today, Colin works in federal consulting, where he supports projects focused on strategic communications, organizational change, and improving how people interact with systems and services. His work centers on helping organizations communicate clearly, navigate complex challenges, and deliver practical, people-focused solutions.
Outside of his professional work, Colin became actively involved in local civic engagement efforts surrounding the future of the historic Old Bennett School in Manassas. What began as a preservation effort evolved into broader conversations about transparency, responsible growth, long-term planning, and community identity.
Working alongside residents, preservation organizations, historians, and local leaders reinforced Colin’s belief that local government works best when residents feel heard, informed, and included in the decisions shaping their city.
Those experiences — both professional and personal — ultimately led Colin to run for Manassas City Council as an Independent focused on thoughtful leadership, responsible growth, and preserving the character of the community residents call home.
